Strategy Buys 267 BTC as Weekly STRC Repurchases Total $193.1M
Strategy added 267 BTC for $22.1M during October 12–18 and spent $193.1M repurchasing STRC. Its bitcoin holdings stood at 848,517 BTC on October 18.
Strategy disclosed on October 19, 2026, that it bought 267 BTC for $22.1 million during October 12–18 while spending $193.1 million repurchasing STRC preferred shares. The update shows two distinct uses of capital in the same reporting period. Follow corporate crypto market developments in OrangeX.com Markets.
Bitcoin purchases and their funding
The company reported an average acquisition price of $82,900 per bitcoin, including fees and expenses. It funded the purchases with $22.0 million of net proceeds from MSTR common-stock sales and $0.1 million of USD Cash. Reported bitcoin holdings reached 848,517 BTC as of October 18; that date matters because the figure is not a live wallet balance.
The purchase average describes Strategy's transactions during the period, not Bitcoin's current market price. Selling common shares also means the funding mechanism should be considered alongside the increase in bitcoin held.
Repurchases and authorization are different figures
Strategy repurchased 1,938,780 STRC shares for $193.1 million using USD Cash. Separately, its board increased the digital-credit securities repurchase authorization from $2 billion to $3 billion, including prior repurchases and related costs. After that increase, $1.16 billion remained available as of October 18. An authorization is permission to spend, not proof that the entire amount has already been deployed.

OrangeX.com Analysis
The week's reported preferred-share repurchases exceeded its bitcoin purchases in dollar terms. That makes the update a capital-allocation story as well as a treasury-growth story. It does not establish a change in long-term strategy or predict Bitcoin's price. Future filings should be checked for purchases, share issuance, repurchases and cash resources together; a rising BTC total alone cannot show the outcome for each shareholder.
