Grayscale Expands In-Kind Access to 10 Products, With Eligibility and AP Conditions
Eligible investors can contribute tokens for shares of select products via an authorized-participant route. Minimums fluctuate, and conversion is not automatically tax-free.
Grayscale announced on October 21, 2026 that eligible investors could contribute digital assets in exchange for shares of selected investment products. Its list covers 10 products, including the Bitcoin Mini Trust ETF (BTC), Ethereum Staking Mini ETF (ETH) and Solana Staking ETF (GSOL). Follow product developments in OrangeX.com ETFs.
Access requires an intermediary
Primary-market in-kind subscriptions require an Authorized Participant (AP) or a conduit to one. Availability, facilitator fees and product terms still apply. This is not unrestricted direct conversion for every wallet holder.
The release lists approximate minimums based on October 20 prices, including $364,800+ for BTC, $232,300+ for ETH and $80,300+ for GSOL. These amounts fluctuate with the underlying asset price and may change without notice; the tickers identify funds, not token quantities.
Shares change the holding structure
The investor receives product shares rather than direct ownership of the underlying cryptocurrency. Grayscale notes that shares can trade above or below net asset value, and conversion may involve swaps, execution risks and taxable events. The announcement does not establish a tax-free or risk-free route. More coverage is available in OrangeX.com News, with verification resources in the OrangeX.com Trust Center.
OrangeX.com Analysis
An in-kind route can connect existing token positions with securities-based portfolio management, but its usefulness depends on eligibility, intermediary costs and the exposure actually received. Investors would need to compare the complete conversion process and product terms, rather than treating the headline as evidence of new fund inflows or guaranteed cost savings.
